Oolite Arts strives to be a leader in the South Florida contemporary cultural scene as a creative and learning center, and internationally recognized as a world class cultural center.
The mission of Oolite Arts is to support artists and advance the knowledge and practice of contemporary visual arts and culture in South Florida. Oolite Arts creates opportunities for experimentation and innovation, and encourages the exchange of ideas across cultures through residencies, exhibitions, public programs, education and outreach.
Apply from June 1st to July 31st for our 2027 Ellies, Oolite Arts Awards Creator Award. The Creator Award provides $10,000 in unrestricted funding to individual artists across South Florida, offering flexible support that reflects the realities of sustaining a creative practice. Unlike project-based grants, these awards are not tied to a specific outcome. By remaining unrestricted, the awards remove common barriers and allow artists to allocate resources where they are most needed.

Apply from June 1st to July 31st for our 2027 Ellies, Oolite Arts Awards Art Teacher Award. The Art Teacher Travel Award provides $5,000 to public and charter K–12 school art teachers to support travel that deepens their knowledge and strengthens their classroom practice.

The Curatorial Practice and Critical Writing Award provides $10,000 to curators or art writers whose work advances critical discourse in contemporary visual art while supporting the visibility, understanding, and long-term development of artists and their practices.

Apply from June 1st to July 31st for our 2027 Oolite Arts Home + Away Residency Program. The Oolite Arts Home + Away program is a series of multi-week paid artist residency opportunities hosted at some of the most prestigious institutions worldwide. In addition to dedicated studio hours for individual artistic practice, Oolite Arts emphasizes the importance of building community with fellow artists, recognizing that this collaboration is essential for advancing artistic careers.
This year Home + Away is a multi-week Oolite Arts partnership with:
- The Bag Factory in Newtown, Johannesburg, South Africa, three months
- Artpace San Antonio in Texas, five weeks
- MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts, four weeks

The Oolite Arts Cinematic Residency supports South Florida filmmakers in the transition from short-form work to their first feature-length films by providing the resources, mentorship, and professional support necessary to develop and produce ambitious microbudget cinema.

Apply from June 1st to July 31st for our 2027 Oolite Arts Studio Residency Program. The Oolite Arts Studio Residency Program provides artists with the time, space, resources, and community needed to advance their practices and reach new levels of excellence. Studio Residents receive free studio space for one year at Oolite Arts’ Miami Beach headquarters, along with access to critical connections with art leaders, exhibition opportunities, professional development, and financial resources that can open pathways to career-changing opportunities.
